A Progressive Web App, or PWA, is a website designed to behave more like an installed app. This matters when a service supports streaming on the web but does not offer a native iPhone app. For example, LiveFlex’s product-owner-verified platform facts direct SuperLive users on iOS to its installable PWA.
Add a supported site to the Home Screen
Open the official website in Safari. Use the Share menu, choose Add to Home Screen, enable Open as Web App when that option is shown, and tap Add. The new icon opens the site in its app-like window. If Add to Home Screen is hidden, Apple says it can be restored through Edit Actions in the Share menu.
Prepare permissions before going live
Open the installed web app and allow camera and microphone access only for the official service you intended to use. Check the selected camera and microphone, then run a short test. If you want notifications and the service supports them, review the permission prompt and iOS notification settings rather than assuming they are enabled.
Know what installation does not guarantee
A Home Screen icon does not prove that every native-app feature is available. Creator access, payments, live tools and background behavior can vary by service, account and region. Use the live product as the final check and avoid profiles or downloads that ask you to bypass normal iOS security.
Safe PWA setup
- Confirm the official website address.
- Install it through Safari’s Add to Home Screen action.
- Grant only the permissions needed for streaming.
- Test camera, microphone, chat and account access before announcing a live.
